Hindu Universe Interactive: General Discussion: Ramesh - On Shuddhi

Namaste, I don’t understand why you hate criticism. You guys equate criticism with hate. Had people (Hindus), during Buddha's period, been like you world would have never know Buddhism. You might say that you are better than the people of other religions are. I agree to that. But is it enough. Why don’ you look at your ancestors? They were great people. They never suppressed free thought. Why have you guys fallen? I think Arya Samaj should perform shuddi(cleansing of thoughts) on you people. Ramesh

ramesh, i tried to be as passive and explanatory as possible in my reply to vishalji, basava and murali which was more like a socio-religious essay... not everything contrary to one's opinion is 'hate'!! the learned members of this forum could have criticized swamiji (and some did), but i didn't cry that it was a hate attack... all arya samaj has ever wanted is interfaith dialogue and rooting out the bad from the good... just plain cool, rational thinking... why is everything here taken in such a fiery and personal way... academic exchange can be so civilized... sri murali once said that the arguments of aryas were devoid of bhakt and prem... but let me say that fighting with just bhakt and prem and no jnan and vivek is just as bad, if not worse... make informed responses instead of jumping to emotional retorts... brahma keep this post safe from deletion.. it's not being saved..

Ramesh said, I think Arya Samaj should perform "shuddi"(cleansing of thoughts) on you people. What about Ramesh himself? I feel that it is very arrogant and dangerous on one's part to think with this idea to perform "shuddi" on others to clean them. It is best if one performs "shuddi" upon oneself and leave the cleaning of the thoughts or whatever of others to alimighty God.

Master Ashegan, Whatever harsh things I may have said and which were later deleted were intended only for Ramesh and not towards you (except a few). I admire your posts and wish you the very best in your religious progress. The posts do not mean that I have hatred for Ramesh. I am only suggesting that he clean himself before trying to clean others.

please forgive me, murali ji, i typed vinaire's name by accident.. i can see that you have love for your religion, and i admire that.. i hope that i will be so passionate in defence of my faith.. but remember academic responses are always harder to tackle than emotional ones... so take a deep breath when you read ramesh bhai's posts.. try to go in objective and level-headed, and see where he's coming from without immediately recoiling into 'hindu pride' and becoming defensive.. and maybe you'll find more in common than you think.. (+ the opposition tends to soften out too) (ps:i think if you corrected yourself on the ahamkar comment (that intelligence/reasoning is a property of this), he would stop picking on it)
