GURUVAYUR,SEPTEMBER 15: Pazhayath Krishnan Namboothiri, 45, was selected as Melsanthi of Guruvayur Sri Krishna Temple on Monday. In the draw of lots held on Monday, he was blessed to serve Guruvayurappan as the Melsanthi for the second time from among the 36 applicants. Krishnan Namboothiri is the son of late Aryan Adithiruppad and the late Parvathi Antharjanam of Pazhayathu Mana, the hereditary Othikkan family of the Guruvayur temple. He was the Melsanthi during 2000-01. Among 36 applied, the Devaswom managing committee selected 26 after interview. The names of the selected were kept in silver pot at the Namaskara Mandapam and Melsanthi Pottakkuzhi Divakaran Namboothiri picked up the lot after Uchapooja.
