Handbooks on ritual in English
I am of anglo-indian (in other words: creole) background, and unlike many
anglo-indians, have sought to reconfirm/discover my forbears 'indian'
culture. One result for me personally is a strong affinity with Hinduism.
I would like to know if anyone can recommend any guides in English, or at
bilingual, to traditional Hindu ritual. In particular I'm interested in
the ritual of daily life. As my mother died recently I am also interested
in the rituals of death and rememberance. Any sources on Sri Vinayaka
would also be appreciated, as I have a special affinity for him. I am in
Australia. (Without insult or prejudice intended: please don't forward
ISKCON Vaishnavite information, as I don't need it)
