Dear Larisaji:
It is wrong to say that turtles are incarnations of God. Firstly, the
texts talk about a specific turtle, early in evolution. Secondly, it is
not correct to say that (although it is very popular) the 10 incarnations
are of Lord Vishnu, they are of God. God said in the Srimad Bhagavad
Gita that Lord Vishnu is one of the many manifestations of Him. The
incarnations are innumerable, not just 10. These 10 were merely listed by
the poet Sri JayaDeva.
