Dear friends:
In my replies to Dhruba's post I had quoted the number of verses in the 
Rigveda to be 100000. The actual number is 10552. Still the number is 
very large.
In summary, Rigveda has 1028 suktas, 10552 riks(verses) or 432000 
syllables(this being also the number of years in Kali yuga)
