Dear all,

As a Hindu youth growing up in the US, I am familiar with such things as 
Ravagalam, Yamagandam, etc..  All I know from my parents is that these are 
unlucky times of day - I was wondering if anyone could provide some scientific 
explanation and in general a more detailed explanation of bad timings such as 
these.
