Dear Sri Rob:
The term 'universalism' in Hinduism primarily refers to the concept of
Sprituality as universal, while in the Christian sense, it mainly refers
to salvation.
A Hindu would say that various religious dogmas reflect the Spiritual
experience of various aspects of the revelations of God. A Hindu also
would say that salvation is also available to everybody, it could be
obtained by worshipping God in every possible way.
With best regards,
Dhruba.
