ADMINISTRIVIA : Info Header?

Namaskar,

Recently, there has been some interest in having header
prefixes in the Subject line to the articles on Soc.Religion.Hindu. I
would to get your opinion about it. The contention is that it would make
reading the newsgroup easier. In the past newsgroups and mailing lists
that I have moderated, this type of classifiation has proved to be useful.

I would like to propose the following for your consideration.

Each post, if it is the "first" in the thread, contain labels such as :

INFO : Subject Title for posts seeking information
ANNOUNCEMENT : Subject Title for events announcement
NEWS : Subject Title for news related posting
ADMINISTRIVIA : Administrative Announcement by Moderator
WWW ANNOUNCEMENT : Announcements regarding WWW

Please feel free to suggest new categories. Those posts that do not fit
any category, need not carry the prefix.

Your suggestions are welcome.

regards,

Ajay Shah
Moderator, Soc.Religion.Hindu
