REQUEST: Info on Ganeesh

I have a brass statue of Ganeesh with parasol and begging bowl
(which looks like a teapot). The guy who sold it to me tells me
that it represents Ganeesh on his pilgrimage to the Ganges.

Can somebody tell me a lot more details about this image of Ganeesh?
