My murtis all have swastikas that look like this:

I have read that some traditions consider this a "left-handed" or negative
version of the swastika. But this does not seem appropriate for any of the
devas (or Sankaracarya) who I have pictures of. Does anyone have an
explanation for this confusion about which form of the swastika is
right-handed and which is left-handed?
